What is child support?
Child support is an annual payment that is due on the date the child reaches the age of majority, usually in the late 30s or early 40s.
It’s based on a combination of the child’s income, the amount of time spent in the household, and any outstanding debts.
In Ohio, a child support order is usually issued for the child(ren)s support, but a child can also be ordered for unpaid child support that may have been ordered by the mother.
It may be necessary to obtain court orders for other financial obligations that are related to the child, such as alimony or support for a dependent.
