Italia-1 Udinese have clinched their place in the top-flight by beating Italia 3-1 in extra time on Saturday.
It was the second-best result of the opening week of the season, with the league leaders also holding a three-point lead on third-placed Legia Warsaw.
It’s the first win for the hosts since they took advantage of a late penalty to level the first leg at the Estadio Vicente Calderon in the city on November 9.
Italo Mancinis struck a brace in the first half to help Roma, who were without Marco Asensio for the game, beat Udinese in their second consecutive game.
Mancini added to his tally with a late strike, with Stefano Pasqualoni firing the winner after 20 minutes.
It would have been 2-0 with 20 minutes remaining if not for a late effort by Gianluca Pascucci, who was booked for a high challenge on Graziano Pelle.
Kaka scored his second goal of the campaign and Andrea Agnelli scored his third after just 11 minutes.
The win kept Udinese just three points behind the leaders, Legia.
