New York Rangers are shopping goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov for the NHL’s New York Islanders


New York City-based hockey team the New York Riveters announced Thursday they have signed Ilya “Ilya” Bryzgaev to a one-year contract, the team announced.

The 31-year-old Bryzganov played eight seasons with the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs before signing with the Rangers in July.

He spent last season in the AHL with the Binghamton Senators, finishing with a .922 save percentage.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Bryzgagov spent parts of four seasons in the NHL with Columbus, Edmonton and Washington.
