Tech support company Uber is going to take a break for a month after its merger with Lyft


Axios article Uber is about to take some time off from its tech support job after its deal with Lyft.

The tech giant has announced it will cut its staff by 2,000 employees as a result of the merger, and that it plans to lay off 1,500 people in the coming months.CEO Travis Kalanick says the company is looking to hire more people to help its customers during the transition.

Uber has been looking for ways to cut costs and cut out the middleman that comes with working for a large company like Lyft.

Kalanik said that the merger will be “a very, very good thing for our employees.”
