A new set of WhatsApp security patches, which were released on Friday, are expected to improve the security of the messaging app, the latest news from the app’s developers.
The security patches were released by WhatsApp on Thursday after a number of security bugs were discovered in the app, including an open issue on the developer’s website, the security firm FireEye said.
The company has been working on improving the security features for years.
The new patches come just days after the company also announced a number new features for the app.
WhatsApp also said it is updating its mobile app for Android, the first of its kind.
