You don’t need to be a computer scientist to run a web-based support desk

But there’s no guarantee you’ll find one that can work with a modern web browser.
That’s where web-focused support desk service WebEx comes in.
Its easy to set up and run, and even more so when you can download its web interface, which has a clean and intuitive interface.
We’re going to show you how to setup a simple WebEx support portal to help you manage your support account and get help with questions and issues that may arise.
We’ve got a video walkthrough and a step-by-step guide that you can use to get started with WebEx, but you can always jump in for the full experience and get the most out of the service.
In this article, we’re going the easy way and will cover the basics of setting up WebEx.
We’ll walk through setting up a simple web portal to manage your account and access support services, and how to install WebEx as a standalone application.
We will show you a quick demo of WebEx and how it works, and show you what the interface looks like.

You’ll need to install the free WebEx plugin for Chrome or the free support web app for Firefox to use WebEx’s support portal.
Install the WebEx web portal support portal for Chrome Add the following to your browser’s address bar and press Enter to install a new WebEx plug-in.
This extension requires Chrome to be installed on your computer, so you can’t download it.
Download the extension from Chrome’s developer site.
Install this extension from Firefox Add the Web Ex support portal plugin to your Firefox browser and open it.
Click the Tools menu, then add a new box to the top of the toolbar.
Under Extensions, select the Web Extensions tab.
Click on the Add button, then enter the following URL: https://support.webex.com/webex/webExPlugin.js Now open the web portal plugin for Firefox.
Add a new page to the portal and name it WebExSupport.js.
On the Web Portal page, you’ll see an icon with a white square in the upper-left corner of the screen, and click it to open the Web Support tab.
On this page, click the Add a New button and enter the URL of the WebExtension.js file.
The WebExtensions extension should open in your browser.
You may need to open your browser window to make sure it opens correctly.
On Firefox, navigate to the Tools section and click the Extensions button.
Under the Web extensions section, click on the new WebExtensions button.
Select WebExtENSORS.js and click OK.
This opens a dialog box that asks if you’d like to save a copy of the extension.
Click Save.
Open the Web extension for Firefox in Chrome.
You should see an additional window with a red button at the top.
On that window, click Save to save the extension to your computer.
Open a new browser window, navigate down to the support portal, and you’ll notice a blue button on the right.
You want to save this file as WebExtents.js, but this is what the extension should look like.
Open this file in a text editor to edit the extension so that it looks more like the one shown below.
Add the new extension to the extension list.
On your WebExteners.js page, double-click on the blue button to open it in the browser.
Add this new extension and then save the file as .js extension.
You will now have a WebExtentions.js extension in your Firefox window.
To access your support portal directly from your browser, just add the extension on your extension list, and select WebExtenses.js from the popup menu.
To check the status of your extension, go to WebExtenders.js’s extensions page.
To make sure that your extension is active, you should see the extension’s icon appear next to the toolbar button, as shown in the image below.
When you see the icon, the extension is enabled.
Once you’re satisfied with the extension and the support web service you want to manage, click Close.
On Chrome, go back to the Web portal and add another portal to the list.
This time, select WebPortals.js instead.
Add your new portal and click Add.
On each new page, open the new portal for Firefox and navigate to WebPortALSites.js again.
Add an extension for the portal, then click the add button.
On WebPortales.js click the open button to add the WebEX support portal support application.
This will open a new tab with a list of web pages.
Click Browse to navigate to each page and open the support site.
